Description
Historically, the halfshafts on the ‘Lockheed’ TR axle are known to be a weak point. The solution generally is to fit a ‘Girling’ axle from a TR3A.
Swapping out the entire axle requires, amongst other things, different ‘U’ bolts, lower spring plates, modifications to the hydraulics and of course the cost of a donor 3A axle..
Installing these uprated replacement shafts is far simpler and cheaper, with the added benefit of retaining the originality of the vehicle.
